Is the anticipation killing you yet? 😉 Are the kids going to get any sleep tonight? Are you?! I love Christmas… The nativities, the food, the music, the food, the presents, the food… you get the picture 😉 Christmas is an important time in our home…
As I write this, however, I am acutely aware that for many families Christmas is not the picture postcard situation that we’d all love to have… For myself, I separated from my now ex-husband at Christmas and though this decision transformed my life for the better, it was nevertheless a very difficult time, and very far from the happy family picture I’d been hoping for. For all those in situations far from the ones they’d wished for… I feel you… For those far from loved ones and missing important traditions, I hear you. I’m thinking of you and want to encourage you… you are not alone.
My evening is going to involve being curled up with mulled wine, tucking into Santa’s minced pie and Rudolph’s carrot (gotta leave those teeth marks!) and reflecting on how incredibly blessed I am this year. For all those similarly employed, isn’t it wonderful!? For those wishing for a more joyful season, hang in there… Tradition teaches us that Joy arrives in the strangest of packages. Perhaps the year ahead will bring you the strangest Joy of all…
